Mission Statement

Mass Alliance is a powerful, united voice for the broad progressive movement in Massachusetts politics. We are a coalition of twenty-two progressive organizations committed to collaboration, education, advocacy, and electoral work to advance the progressive agenda.

Our member organizations have a diverse range of priorities, including:

By working together, the members of Mass Alliance create a community of shared values. Our cooperation enhances our ability to win victories on a range of issues from protecting equal marriage to increasing access to healthcare.

Mass Alliance provides leadership for the progressive community. Too often, progressives cannot win victories because we are not working together and, at times, are even divided. By developing relationships among the broadest spectrum of progressive interests, Mass Alliance builds unity around legislative issues and candidates for state office. This collaboration enables us to make strategic decisions about where our resources will have the most impact toward winning a progressive Massachusetts.

Mass Alliance seeks out progressive champions for legislative office. Every election cycle we research candidates for legislative office across the Commonwealth in order to find those who will be the best advocates for priorities of all our members. We endorse candidates who support this broad progressive agenda.

Mass Alliance PAC makes the difference between progressives winning or losing their elections. We provide direct support for progressive candidates and their campaigns. Together, we:

• Work with candidates endorsed by Mass Alliance to help them run successful grassroots campaigns and communicate effectively about progressive values.
• Mobilize and coordinate the electoral programs of member organizations in support of our endorsed candidates.
