Monica Cannon

7th Suffolk

We were so excited to endorse Monica Cannon who ran for the 7th Suffolk District House Seat. Sadly, Monica lost the close race to Chyna Tyler in the 2016 Democratic Primary.
Monica Cannon is a proud resident of Roxbury and has been the last 10 years. She is deeply committed to her community, her children and her church. Monica has deep roots in the community. As the City of Boston Community Liaison in her neighborhood of Warren Gardens, Monica helped connect residents to city services. She was a member of the Peace Collaborative where she was the Director of Promotions and has helped host their 100 Slices bake sale and Annual Got Peace Basketball Tournament. Additionally, she is the Executive Director of The Tito Jackson Community Fund.
In the last ten years, Monica Cannon became a pillar of her community. She has enabled many youths with employment opportunities, raised funds for back-to-school items for students, and organized her community to increase safety. We are proud to support Monica as she continues to improve her community directly for years to come.

Meaghan Connors – Campaign Manager

I have worked on the Monica Cannon State Rep Campaign, the Ben Ewen-Campen Somerville City Council Campaign, the Segun Idowu for State Rep Campaign, and the David LeBoeuf for State Rep Campaign.

  •    How did having the Mass Alliance endorsement help your victory?

The training helped me to keep a campaign structure simple, to work backyards, and helped me own my role as a campaign manager. After one campaign cycle and with the training under my belt, I made far fewer errors in the following campaigns and managed personalities, volunteers, and candidates efficiently. And as a woman in this game, my time and money towards this training were well spent.

Year Endorsed: 2016
