Support Progressive Values

Are you excited about progressive issues and eager to take an active role in Massachusetts politics?
Have you worked on any local campaigns or are you interested gaining more grassroots campaigning experience?

If you find yourself drawn to community education, advocacy, and local politics and are looking for an internship, Mass Alliance might be the perfect fit for you!

Mass Alliance: Mass Alliance is a coalition of 28 organizations working to advance progressive politics in Massachusetts. Our organizations represent a variety of interests such as: worker’s rights, environmental protection, reproductive freedom, and civil rights. Along with education and advocacy, Mass Alliance endorses and supports progressive candidates for state legislature. Mass Alliance works hard to support our progressive elected officials through advocacy and lobbying on progressive bills, as well as training the next generation of progressive candidates for public office.

Internships: Mass Alliance is looking for highly motivated interns who are eager to learn more about legislative campaigns and take an active role in progressive Massachusetts politics. Interns will become familiar with the structure of local politics and will have the opportunity to meet leaders behind some of the best campaigns in Massachusetts politics. Additionally, interns will learn about many progressive public policy areas through contact with the member organizations. Job responsibilities include candidate recruitment, event planning, logistical organizing, attending meetings, events, and trainings, political research, district analysis, candidate interviews, possible work directly on campaigns, possible work at the state House, and various office duties. Internships are available for a variety of schedules and are flexible. Currently, all internships are remote. A commitment to progressive politics is the only firm requirement. Campaign, political, or other organizing experience appreciated, but not required. A $500 stipend is provided for each internship.

Note: We hire summer, fall, and spring interns. For summer, the position runs June-August, with an application process from February-March. For fall, the position runs September-December, with an application process from June-July. For spring, the position runs January-May, with an application process November-December. Please submit resumes to [email protected].

Are you a high school student in Massachusetts looking to gain more experience with progressive electoral politics? We have just launched a high school internship program for the summer season. We will be accepting applications for the position interviewing and selecting interns on a rolling basis until full. Summer interns should expect to work 10-15 hours per week starting in June and ending in August (dates flexible to accommodate school), and will work alongside our staff and college interns to support progressive campaigns, help with political organizing, fundraising, direct campaigns work, and administrative tasks. Interns will learn about campaign management, political coalition organizing, social media outreach, and fundraising. (Note: Graduated seniors may apply, as can rising freshmen)
