With support from Mass Alliance, Jim Hawkins–a math teacher and race car driver–won the 2nd Bristol House seat. Jim has spent his life championing fair, nonpunitive, well-funded public education and brings to his office critical lived experience as a small business owner that allows him to relate to his constituents’ struggles. Over the course of his career, Jim has also personally advocated for his homeless students and community members suffering from substance abuse and addiction. His victory really helped the Massachusetts progressive movement “race” ahead!
