Mass Alliance is excited to name Corey Robinson as a 2021 Rising Star for Lowell City Council, Centralville District.
Corey is a lifelong resident of Lowell, having attended public schools prior to graduating from Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School. By the age of 14, he had already begun working for the City of Lowell through its Summer Youth Employment Program. It was during these early years that Robinson realized he loved working to serve his community. The growing sense of pride he received from improving the different neighborhoods within our community is what led Robinson to the Department of Public Works. He would spend the next 15 years gainfully employed in their Parks Department serving neighborhood groups, sports organizations, local residents, and tourists alike.
Growing up bi-racial with both African-American and Irish heritage in this great orchestra of cultures, Robinson learned very early on the issues that people from different backgrounds faced based on a multitude of factors, and hopes to work to overcome this as a city councillor.
