We moved to Newton after adopting three boys through the Department of Children and Families in Boston. We currently live in Oak Hill Park with Jeremy (Oak Hill), Matthew and Randall (Memorial Spaulding) and our cockapoo Aniken. I have served as a PTO leader for six years including two years as President of the Memorial Spaulding PTO and two years as President at Oak Hill Middle School PTO. My focus is on community engagement and unity. As President of the 600 member Oak Hill Park Association, I am responsible for overseeing the use of the community center, engaging citizens and uniting varying demographic groups. In 2011, I brought Destination Imagination to Newton. Destination Imagination is a dynamic after school program that teaches creative thinking and problem solving. We are now operating in 15 schools spanning Elementary, Middle and High school. In addition to owning and operating my own Executive Recruiter firm, I also serve as a volunteer Family Resource Liaison for the Department of Children and Families and as a Board Member at Temple Beth Avodah. I am passionate about the Newton Public Schools and work hard to engage our community in order to ensure our schools are successful. I will bring a creative and thoughtful perspective to the School Committee.
