A goal of Mass Alliance has always been to advocate for a better future. And one of the ways that we do this is by electing young people to office. Samantha Perlman shook the status quo by running for and winning Marlborough City Council. She became the youngest person on the council by roughly half, winning the seat at the age of 24. Her dedication to progressivism shines through in her mentoring and dedication to connecting with her community. This dedication to the community truly stood out in her door-knocking campaign, which she learned from Mass Alliance training. With this win, youth voices will cease to be as overlooked in Marlborough, as Sam has and continues to make incredible changes to make local government more accessible for all.
