33rd Middlesex
Steve Ultrino, 37, currently serves as a Ward 2 Malden City Councilor. He was first elected in 2011 and was a School Committee Member for eight years prior to that. Ultrino has fought hard for the right of Malden children to receive the highest quality instruction. He has also secured millions of dollars of infrastructure improvement for Ward 2. Ultrino served sixteen years as President of the St. Rocco Society and seven years as a board member and past Chairman of the Malden YMCA. Currently, he serves on the Board of Monsignor Neagle Housing Association and is a member of the Malden Kiwanis. He is a lifetime member of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and was recognized across the Commonwealth for his service and doctoral research in 2013.
Steve Ultrino was elected to the open 33rd Middlesex seat in 2014. As State Rep., Ultrino wants to work to ensure that all Massachusetts workers are paid a sustainable living wage, and that women are paid equally. He wants to secure funding for improvements to Malden’s transportation and infrastructure as well as for Public Safety Officials allowing the Police and Fire Departments to be safely staffed. He will fight for increased funding in local aid and for economic and social equality, while being a constant presence not only for Beacon Hill but also in his local neighborhood. Year endorsed: 2014
