Lydia Edwards

Lydia Edwards, with support from Mass Alliance during their only venture into Boston politics, won her race for Boston City Council’s District 1 seat, representing East Boston. Lydia, who was raised by a single mother in the military, is a public interest attorney focused on fair labor practices- in this role, she advocated for a Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights and won. Since becoming Councilor, Lydia has been a champion for government transparency and has worked to address housing equity, transportation and infrastructure concerns, and the balance between economic development and respecting residents. Lydia continues to advocate for progressive change in her bid to represent the 1st Suffolk and Middlesex District in the State Senate.
