Tami Gouveia, a social worker and single mother from a union family, describes her motivation for getting involved in politics as being from lived experience- she wanted to ensure that the same services that have helped her are available to others. Since her election to the 14th Middlesex seat with the help of Mass Alliance, Tami has pushed for transparency and sponsored much progressive legislation, notably working to combat the opioid epidemic and ban conversion therapy in Massachusetts. Tami also recently earned her Doctorate in Public Health, allowing her to better advocate for safety measures during the pandemic. Tami has continued her public service in Massachusetts by running for Lieutenant Governor.
