John Drinkwater

John Drinkwater is a Democrat running for the State Senate to represent the First Middlesex district, which includes the towns of Pepperell, Dunstable, Tyngsborough, Groton, and Westford. John grew up in Tewksbury and attended UMass Lowell, where he met his wife Julie. With their three children heading into the public school system, John is running for State Senate because he cares deeply about the kids and working people of the First Middlesex district. John believes it is important for our elected leaders to understand the struggles and concerns of the working people. John believes he understands these struggles as he has worked side-by-side with union workers, low wage workers, and young workers, and he wishes to be a strong voice for these hard working people. John’s priorities are to combat the opioid crisis through expanding access to inpatient treatment, and better help those in recovery, fully fund public schools and increase state aid to community colleges, state colleges and state universities to make them more affordable, and pursue better job training programs for young workers.
