Endorsements
Mass Alliance runs two candidate support programs. During legislative years, we endorse candidates for State Rep and State Senate who will carry forward our progressive legislative agenda. These candidates represent a consensus of our board of progressive organizations. During municipal years, we run a Rising Stars program in which we support a small number of progressive municipal candidates. This is not an endorsements program, rather we invest in a few local leaders across the Commonwealth and support them in their campaigns.
Our questionnaire is the first step to a Mass Alliance endorsement or Rising Stars nomination. Reach out to a staff member to obtain and fill out the questionnaire.

Mass Alliance endorses legislative candidates who request our endorsement and who have a clear record of supporting our values. We are proud to endorse these progressive champions:
Johnnie McKnight
Johnnie McKnight, an educator and community advocate, is campaigning for the 11th Hampden District to bring more resources for education, housing, jobs, and public health to Springfield. https://www.mcknightforstaterep.com/
Evan McKay
Evan McKay, running to represent the 25th Middlesex District in Cambridge, is an educator, union leader, and pro-democracy organizer. His platform focuses on government transparency, criminal system reform, and climate justice. https://www.evanforcambridge.com/
Barry Sanders
Barry Sanders, a social worker and Taunton City Councilor, seeks to represent the First Plymouth and Bristol Senate District. Barry’s policy priorities include addressing the mental health and substance abuse crisis, climate justice, and worker’s rights. Arielle Faria
Arielle Faria, a community organizer from Martha’s Vineyard, is dedicated to housing and climate justice and is running to represent the Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket District. https://www.ariellefaria.com/
Tara Hong
Tara Hong, running for the 18th Middlesex District in Lowell, aims to bring more transparent government, constituent services, and social/economic justice to the residents of Lowell. https://www.tarahong.com/
Bill Humphrey
Bill Humphrey, a Newton City Councilor, is running for the 12th Middlesex District. He advocates for environmental justice, public education, and housing and is recognized as a Mass Alliance Rising Star and a member of the Progressive Municipal Leaders Network. https://www.billhumphrey.org/
