Mass Alliance congratulates Dylan Fernandes on his win for the open House of Representatives from the Barnstable, Dukes & Nantucket District.
Fernandes is a fourth generation Falmouth resident who grew up on Woods Hole Road. He has worked tirelessly to promote economic opportunity for all Massachusetts residents, ensure strong environmental stewardship, and protect the most vulnerable in our society.
Fernandes worked as an organizer for Senator Elizabeth Warren’s campaign in 2012 and as Maura Healey’s political director in 2014, managing a statewide field staff and new media communications for her campaign. Since then he served in various capacities with the Attorney General’s Office. With the AGO’s Consumer Advocacy and Response Division, he mediated disputes to get money back for consumers ripped off by unscrupulous businesses. While working in the Civil Rights Division, he fought to protect the rights of those being discriminated against in housing, employment, retail, and education, and was an advocate for disability rights. Most recently, as digital director for the office, Fernandes launched advocacy campaign supporting earned sick time, equal pay for equal work, and clean energy solutions, as well as the popular #EveryoneWelcome campaign for transgender civil rights.
Fernandes has dedicated his entire career to advocating for the public interest and the needs of our communities. We know that he will continue to be a strong voice for these values on Beacon Hill. Year Endorsed: 2016
